The September Degustabox was another exciting box of treats… a bit of a fruity theme with most of the items and I managed to try lots of them in the first few days with them being mostly drinks and snacks!
A monthly Degustabox of treats is just £12.99 and the contents are always worth more, at retail price, than the cost of the box! Plus, as one of my blog readers, if you use my discount code you will get £7.00 off, so your first box will be just £5.99… BLDEG15
Get Fruity Bars – Marvellous Mango
No wonder these are an award winning fruit and oat bar. At first they look and taste like an average flapjack style bar but then the fresh flavour of mango hits you. Suitable for vegans, gluten free and 100% natural they really are the guilt free snack. Would be fantastic for kids as a secretly healthy snack!
Emily’s Fruit Crisps
Great for a mid morning snack … these really are guilt free by being all natural, made with only 2 ingredients… banana and palm oil which therefore makes them gluten free, vegan and vegetarian. Really tasty and only 157 calories for the whole pack but I’d say about a third of a pack would be a snack size. Absolutely love the packaging too!!!
Cape Drinks – Sparkling Peach & Lychee and Sparkling Pineapple & Passionfruit
Made using Rooibos Tea and fruit juices and containing Ginseng, these are so refreshing, served chilled and full of flavour, although quite high in calories considering the natural ingredients in them. I imagine they would be great with a shot of vodka or gin in too!
Metcalfe’s Popcorn Thins
Not the healthiest of snacks but only 82 calories each and a really good treat especially with a cup of milky coffee. Creamy milk chocolate over a toffee popcorn, ‘rice cake like’ base. Would be great for kids too!
Mrs Crimble’s Fusilli (gluten free)
I still need to try this – will update when I do… Looks really easy to make. A low calorie, gluten free, corn fusilli pasta with a gourmet mushroom and cream sauce. Would be the perfect accompaniment to meat or fish, a filling meal for one or a side dish for two.
Chia Bia Milled Chia Seeds and Chia Bia Whole Chia Seeds
These were a great find for me… I love making smoothies in my nutribullet and I’m always looking for ways to improve the nutrition in them. The individual packs are much easier than big bags and only £1 a packet. I added the Milled Chia Seeds to my banana, kale, milk and honey smoothie and it didn’t drastically affect the taste with just a slight nutty aftertaste but obviously all the health benefits of Chia seeds added in! They are great mixed in yogurt too… and a bit of goodness that’s easy to sneak into the kids snacks without them knowing!!!
Cirio Borlotti Beans
I really like the fact that these come in small tins as I tend to use half a tin and waste the rest. £1.89 for a pack of three… ready to use – steam cooked and contains no preservatives and a good source of vitamins and fibre for all the family… best in a chilli recipe.
I’ve had Hartley’s Jelly before so I was glad to find 4 pots in all different flavours in the box. These particular ones contained no sugar but are very tasty and are really handy in the individual pots… especially for kids or lunch boxes etc.
Say Yes To No Bread Chips
I loved these little ‘Bread Chips’ in Sour Cream and Onion flavour. To me they tasted just like Sour Cream and Onion Pringles but obviously with a different texture. Would be great with soup or dip but also a really good snack on their own.
Teisseire Sirop drink
I’ve never seen or heard of this drink before. I really enjoyed trying the Raspberry and Cranberry flavour. It is really low in calories and has no sugar too. I keep mine in the office and just top up my bottles of water! A bit tangy and refreshing. Saw a suggestion for trying it with fizzy water so will have to do that another day!
Thank you for reading and please look out for my
next review of the October Degustabox…
